Our Mission
At Bastrop Animal Rescue Kennels, we focus on rescuing medium to large breed dogs. We provide them with shelter, rehabilitation, and compassionate care while working diligently to connect them to loving, permanent homes. Our commitment encompasses collaboration with local Animal Control and non-profit organizations.
About Us
I'm the founder Scott Leitch and my wife Sylvia and I are lifetime dog lovers and began this journey in 2019 with the adoption of a 2 time shelter return Cotton. We now have 5 rescues living in our home and now have dozens of rescues over 6 years of rescue experience.
Our VP Rob Horner has been adopting, rescuing, fostering and transporting dogs for many years, and currently has 4 rescued dogs living in his home.
In addition to street rescue work, we intend to explore deeper collaboration with local rescue and animal welfare organizations to develop and implement long term solutions to the stray dog crisis in Bastrop County.
